TL;DR
- Do you want to get TCT tokens for your contribution in Aug-Oct 2022 - coordinate it with me first, please!
- The TCT tokens have no value. It's just a way for us to track how much each person contributed.
More boring details are below 👇
Long version
Web3 is all "run and gun", but I never liked situations where people dedicate their time to a project that has a potential income, but don't know what to expect in return if anything.
Clarity is important. We want many people to participate in the Citadef experiment, but we also want them to know what they get for it.
This post contains rules that should make it clearer. The rules are valid only for three months because it's too early to set up anything for a longer period.
Here is the current compensation rules in the FAQ format that I love so much but real lawyers hate so much.
What do we get compensated for?
Ah! The important question!
Well, contributors get compensated in TCT Tokens (Temporary Citadef Tokens). They don't have a value or utility at this stage, but we use them as tools to track how much a person contributed.
The idea is that if in the future we will distribute meaningful tokens to past contributors, we will use the TCT to know which percentage each person deserves to get.
So, for example, if you got 90% of the TCT token supply, it means that you did 90% of the project contribution (wow! a superstar!) - and you should be compensated accordingly.
Does this mean that there will be some meaningful compensation for contributors in the future?
Maybe. We're not sure. Don't know. We can't promise. But we want to be prepared for the case that there will be.
Who decides on how much each gets compensated?
Me! Like, for the next three months I'm gonna act as a benevolent dictator for compensation matters.
Not because I want to, but because we don't have a governance mechanism in place yet.
I want to contribute and get compensated! How do I do that?
All payment agreements need to take with me before working.
There are two kinds of agreements:
- Payment for a specific task. For example, 100 TCT to organize a Citadef community call.
- Monthly compensation for people who do a lot for the project but don't want to negotiate each contribution separately.
- Compensation for writers; it's part of the write-to-earn model we're trying (per @Scalo proposal). There are no clear criteria here, but in general, if someone wrote a good amount of quality posts, they can get compensated. What consists of a "good amount" and is "quality" is up for me to decide at this point in time.
I intend to take for myself 6K TCT per month, considering the time I put into the project. The maximum monthly compensation possible right now is 12K, and that's only in the case of someone brave enough to dedicate all their working time to Citadef.
How to determine the amount of compensation?
Right now we'll calculate things with the fake value of 1 TCT = 1$. Not because TCT has any worth in USD (it not! it's worthless1), but because it's easy to think in those terms.
So when you ask a price for your contribution, think how much USD you'd expect for it.
What about the people who funded the project and contributed to it till August 2022?
There will be a separate allocation for people who worked on Citadef before the launch. These are mostly Esteroids team but also some community members who helped along the way. We will be discussed this at a later time point.
